This historic site, with its magnificent gardens laid out in the original shape of a compass rose, is a must-see when discovering the Charente-Maritime region.

Near your seaside campsite, discover some of the must-see sites on the Ile d’Oléron, such as the charming port village of La Cotinière, with its colorful fishermen’s huts. Don’t miss the emblematic citadel of Château-d’Oléron, and the seaside resort of La Brée-les-Bains, home to the Moulin de la Fontaine. But above all, and definitely one to put at the top of your list: take a boat trip around Fort Boyard! From Saint-Denis-d’Oléron, just a short walk from your campsite, take a cruise to Fort Boyard, the region’s historic landmark! Held regularly throughout the summer, this market is a great opportunity to discover authentic crafts and do some 100% local shopping. From April onwards, you’ll find a friendly atmosphere and unique creations to take home in your suitcases.
